Description
The Chicago River was dyed green on Saturday (March 12th), but the hues still linger.
Back when the tradition was started in 1962, so much dye was used that it would stay bright green for about a week. These days they only use about 25 pounds of an eco-friendly vegetable-based powder and the effect mellows much more quickly.
