Artist's Description

The town of Kalkara forms part of the inner harbor area and is believed to be one of the first areas inhabited by the early dwellers of Malta that came over from Sicily. The church at the center of all things is not the original. The first church was completely destroyed during a WWII air attack, April 1942. As viewed from Birgu, the main focal point of Kalkara, it's church, is set back...so deeply that it surprised me. The lights, boats, and trees all create a chaos of textures, lines, and shadows above which the brilliantly lit church looms. In a way, this shot sums up the trip and what I hoped to find when traveling to Malta. ** FEATURED ** 04/15/2018 - Brilliant Colors 03/14/2018 - The World We See 02/28/2018 - Sunsets Sunrises Night Moon Weather And Bw 02/18/2018 - New FAA Uploads 02/05/2018 - Shadows, Silhouettes and Reflections Outdoors 02/03/2018 - Five Start Artist 01/31/2018 - Arts Fantastic World 01/31/2018 - Images That Excite You

About Nisah Cheatham

Nisah Cheatham

I am a traveler & a foodie & a night owl - and my photography reflects that. So, yes, I gravitate towards urban/city and street scenes, and also have a wild, yet really unattainable dream of visiting all of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. But rounding out my portfolio, you will definitely see nature, landscape, and even food photography. Thank you for taking the time to visit. - Flickr: Nisah Cheatham | Instagram: @nisahnet | Twitter: @nisahnet - FAA Group Administrator: UNESCO World Heritage Sites
