A chilly, cloudy December day gives way to dusk. The street lights are starting to come on. And just the top of the Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque is visible from our hotel located in the Sultanahmet. Many people visit Istanbul and only see the major tourist attractions. We like to stay near them, but in an area that feels like a living neighborhood.
