The Whirlpool Building is also the Britannica Building, but officially - Reid, Murdoch & Co. Building. This official Chicago Landmark was built in 1914 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Looking up the Main Stem of the Chicago River on a gray late-winter day and it's like peering down a glass and steel canyon. Chicago's Riverwalk serves as a great artery into the heart of the urban core.
